Principles for Effective Disciple-making

Ephesians 4:11-13

God "gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12 to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."

Preparing the people of God to do works of ministry is a part of God’s purpose for the Church. Helping people through the spiritual maturity cycle is the primary work of the church’s disciple-making ministry.

Biblical Foundations:  Jesus said: "Follow me ... Make Disciples

The Great Command: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these." (Mark 12:30-31).

The Great Commission: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age" (Matt. 28:19-20).
