Steadfast Student Ministries

"Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be STEADFAST in all your ways." ~ Proverbs 4:25-26

At Hope Community Church, our YOUTH are an important part of the MISSION of the church.  Together we are following Jesus and making disciples.    Our youth activities are designed to ignite passion in our teens, ground them in sound biblical teaching, and commission them for God’s work in the world.

Our Youth Group Activities revolve around Discipleship, Fellowship, and Mission:

dISCIPLESHIP:

SUNDAY MORNING : 9:00am

Early Youth Discussion with Jessica Phillips

Youth and College Discussion with Pastor Dakin

WEDNESDAY NIGHT yOUTH gROUP : 6:30-8:30pm with Pastor Don Dakin

Our Wednesday nights are both fun and challenging.  We play games and hang out, but we also dig into the Word and challenge one another, often spending time in small discussion groups or doing things together that are “out-of-the-box”.

cHURCH mINISTRY oPPORTUNITIES

Jesus was always challenging his disciples by engaging them in ministry.  Our teens have lots of opportunities to be discipled through ministry in the church.  A few examples include praise team, children’s ministry, audio/visual assistance and ushering.

fELLOWSHIP:

eVENTS

While our Discipleship activities certainly include fellowship, we also have a number of events throughout the year that are designed just for this purpose.  Flag football tournaments, Retreats, Summer Camp, and various group outings are just a few examples.  Check the main “Events” calendar for upcoming youth fellowship events and details!

mISSION:

"tHE sERVICE pROJECT" : An ongoing project of service to people in need.  Church members submit needs of our congregation and community (such as an elderly person that needs lawn care) and the teens take on the jobs.  Church members also donate money so that when the teens work, they earn a low per hour amount to put towards camp, mission trips, and other spiritual formation events.

MISSION TRIPS

God is at work all over the world, from our own schools and neighborhoods to far away lands.  Mission trips get us out of our comfort zones and put us in a place to recognize God at work as we commit ourselves to join in with a servant's heart.
